Common questions
Title Case capitalises the first letter of every major word — “The Quick Brown Fox Jumps.” Sentence case capitalises only the first letter of the first word and proper nouns — “The quick brown fox jumps.” Most headlines and article titles use Title Case or Sentence case depending on the style guide.
camelCase starts with a lowercase letter and capitalises the first letter of each subsequent word: myVariableName. PascalCase capitalises the first letter of every word including the first: MyVariableName. camelCase is the convention for JavaScript variables and JSON keys; PascalCase is used for class names in most languages and React component names.
snake_case separates words with underscores and uses all lowercase: my_variable_name. Commonly used in Python variables and database column names. kebab-case separates words with hyphens: my-variable-name. Commonly used in CSS class names, HTML attributes, and URL slugs.
Yes. Punctuation is preserved in place during conversion. Numbers and special characters are not affected — only alphabetic characters change case. For programming case formats (camelCase, snake_case, etc.), spaces and existing separators are replaced with the appropriate separator for that format.
