The model has been trained on thousands of colored photos to learn the relationship between grayscale values and natural colors like skin tones, skies, foliage, and clothing fabrics. It predicts and applies the most likely color shades. This process runs locally using WebAssembly.
The colorizer predicts tones based on gray shading patterns, meaning the results are estimates and may not match the actual historical colors of the scene. Colors like hair shading, car paints, or dress patterns may vary from reality.
To prevent system lag, image uploads are restricted to a maximum size of 1500 by 1500 pixels. High-definition scans of photos will be automatically resized during processing to ensure stable operation on your device.
No, the color mapping calculations run client-side. None of your uploaded files, processed images, or personal family scans are sent to external servers, keeping your data private.
