FAQ

Common questions

A DNSBL (DNS-based Blackhole List) is a public registry that tracks IP addresses and domains suspected of distributing spam, malware, or abusive traffic. Internet service providers and corporate mail gateways consult these databases before delivering incoming messages to recipient inboxes. If your sending IP is listed, your outbound emails may be rejected with bounce codes or redirected automatically into junk folders.
An IP address can be blacklisted for several reasons, including sending unauthenticated bulk emails, high recipient complaint rates, compromised email accounts sending phishing messages, or poor list hygiene. Furthermore, sharing a cloud server or shared hosting IP with another sender who abused sending privileges can result in collateral blacklisting. Running regular audits helps you identify these listings before deliverability collapses.
Once you identify which blacklist has flagged your IP, visit that provider’s official delisting page and follow their removal procedure. Before requesting delisting, resolve the underlying cause by fixing compromised credentials, updating SPF/DKIM/DMARC records, and halting bulk mail delivery. Many reputable lists provide automatic or self-service delisting once malicious activity ceases.
The checker queries public DNSBL endpoints via client-side DNS queries and does not register, publish, or record your searched addresses. Your audit queries remain confidential, and the lookup itself will never trigger a new blacklist event. Refreshing or closing the webpage removes all search results from local browser memory.
