For the popular 50/30/20 rule (50% needs, 30% wants, 20% savings), enter your expenses in those three categories and the chart shows how your actual spending compares to the target split. Add a “Savings” expense line to include savings as a budget commitment rather than leaving it as the residual.

The budget planner runs in your browser with no account system. The page does not retain data between sessions — to keep your budget, note the figures in a spreadsheet or document. For ongoing monthly budgeting with data persistence, a dedicated app like YNAB, Notion, or a spreadsheet template would be a better fit.

Budget against your net (take-home) pay — the amount that actually reaches your bank account after tax and statutory deductions.
